Board and role-playing games of the 1970s-80s have become collectibles. The most famous is the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons (1974), sold in a "woodgrain" box and printed in about 1,000 copies. Storm Over Arnhem, published by Avalon Hill in 1981, simulates the battle for the Arnhem bridge (Operation Market Garden, 1944): a two-player wargame, not rare but sought after. Prices range from a few dozen dollars for a common game to over $20,000 for the very first D&D.
